Our Coach and Officiating Development Programs are training and qualification pathways for youth from all cultural backgrounds who want to take their passion for sport further. It provides an opportunity for young people to gain both personal and professional development and pursue employment opportunities in the sporting industry, while also giving back to their community.
The program is tailored to suit youth who enjoy hands on learning and would thrive with the support and mentoring offered by our Senior and Mentor Coaches and Officials in our program. The overall goal is to contribute to a brighter future for our young people, while at the same time building a sustainable sporting programs in our target communities.
In 2016, our program won the Employment, Education and Training Innovation – Private Enterprise award at the Queensland Multicultural Awards. We are honoured to be recognised for the work we are doing in the community and thank all our Community Coaches who’s dedication and passion have made this possible!
Coach Development Program
Our Coach Development Program offers a unique opportunity for young people to gain qualifications, experience and employment in coaching. There are three levels in our program:
- Junior Coach
- Senior Coach
- Mentor Coach
For young people interested in joining our Coach Development Program, they will start at a Junior Coaching Level and move their way up into. At a Senior and Mentor Coaching level there are opportunities to move into paid positions coaching our Mini, Junior and All Stars programs.
Officiating Development Program
Our Officiating Development Program follows the same structure as our Coach Development Program. We work closely with State and National Sporting Bodies to offer Foundation level officiating qualifications in specific sports for our young people.
