National Youth Settlement Framework

MYAN provides information and resources for relevant sectors on working with young people, using the National Youth Settlement Framework (NYSF) as the foundation.

The NYSF is Australia’s first and only evidence-based national guide to benchmark good practice with young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds – and is the only one of its kind globally. With practical tools, including Self-Assessment Guides, the NYSF is designed to equip policymakers and service providers with the skills and knowledge to best support young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds to thrive in Australia.

MyQ delivers face-to-face and online training on the National Youth Settlement Framework.  The training explores:

  • How practitioners and policy-makers can incorporate the NYSF into their work, including using the NYSF Assessment Tools
  • Factors contributing to good settlement outcomes for young people
  • Good practice in facilitating active citizenship
  • Presentations by young people from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds
